The fifth recipient of the Robert R. Coly Prize is Thomas Rabeyron of the University of Edinburgh and Lyon II University.
Thomas Rabeyron is a post-graduate student at the University of Edinburgh and Lyon II University studying under Caroline Watt (Koestler Parapsychology Unit, University of Edinburgh) and Bernard Chouvier (CRPPC, Lyon II University).
Currently in residence in Edinburgh, Rabeyron is both a member of the Koestler Parapsychology Unit, and a member and co-founder of the Student Group of the Institut Métapsychique International (IMI) in Paris. His doctoral dissertation, “Qualiative and Quantitative Approaches to Exceptional Experiences,” focuses on both clinical and experimental approaches to exceptional experience.
Together with another psychologist and PF Garrett Scholar, Renaud Evrard, Rabeyron founded a counseling service at the IMI for people who report paranormal experiences. He intends to perform a qualitative psychodynamic analysis of experiences collected from counseling clients, a topic he also covered in his masters research. The experimental portion of his doctoral research is based both on questionnaire studies and on a laboratory-based precognitive task. He has also written a paper on skepticism and parapsychology which is available on the IMI website, translated a number of Foundation blogs into French for use on the IMI website.
